Karyn Oliver: Music
Nothing To Remember
(Karyn Oliver)
words and music by Karyn Oliver Lehr, recorded at Ty Ford Studio
I basically wrote this song while driving home from a show on a warm summer night. My dear friend Ken Gutberlet is playing guitar on this one, Bill is playing upright bass and Mark's on the drums. We'll likely be adding some pedal steel soon, but this is the song (or part of it, anyway) as it stands right now.
NOTHING TO REMEMBER
On a country road in the twilight
With a full moon peeking through the clouds
I have nothing left to remember but these lines
I can hear your voice in the stillness
I can see your face in the stars
I have nothing left to remember but those eyes
And the way you love me, the way you hold me tight
The way you move me, and rock me through the night
There’s a nightingale crying softly
This is her last night in which to shine
She has nothing left to remember but this song
As the crickets chirp and the katydids
Scratch out rhythm keeping time
I have nothing left to remember if you’re gone
