The city shines like stars at night
And from here you can’t see what she’s hiding
There’s 2-way traffic in the tunnel tonight
And the words burn can’t you see I’m trying
The morning screams and I’m in disguise
When I smile hey can’t you feel me lying
The sunlight burns me I’m paper thin
Well surely you see through me by now
The days run long and they leave me raw
And I lie like road kill back there dying
Becoming part of the pavement now
Just another lonely soul confiding
